Most schools find out a student is struggling too late, and usually by accident. FitToday gives students a private place to say how they are actually doing, and gives the adults responsible for them a picture of the whole cohort — without handing over what any one student wrote.
— 01
A student opens the app and answers, in their own words, how they are doing. It takes under a minute. Nothing they write is shown to a teacher, a counsellor, or a parent.
— 02
What the student wrote is read once to produce a wellbeing signal — a structured reading of how they seem to be doing — and is then discarded. The signal is kept. The words are not.
— 03
Educators see how the cohort is trending over time, rather than transcripts of individual students. If a student's signals suggest they need a person rather than an app, the app points them to real crisis services.
Plain answers, including the ones that are less convenient for us.
What is stored
Student accounts and the wellbeing signals produced from their check-ins. FitToday never stores the student's words. They are read once to produce a signal, then discarded.
Where it is stored
In Supabase's ap-south-1 region, in Mumbai. Stored data stays in India. The system is designed for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who reads the words
The reading that turns a check-in into a wellbeing signal is done by an AI provider located outside India, under a contract that forbids training on the text and forbids retaining it. We would rather tell you this plainly than bury it: the words leave the country for the moment they are read, and are not kept anywhere afterwards.
Erasure requests
Processed within 72 hours. What remains afterwards is a pseudonymized record, plus crisis and consent logs — kept because a school needs to be able to show that a consent was given and that a crisis was handled.
Agreements
A school data processing agreement (DPA) template is available on request, so your administration and legal advisers can read the terms before any student uses the app.
It is not therapy. No one on the other side of the app is a clinician, and a wellbeing signal is not a diagnosis. It does not replace a school counsellor, a psychologist, or a psychiatrist.
It is not a crisis service. It is not monitored around the clock, and no one is watching for an emergency in real time. When a student needs urgent help, the app points them to services that are staffed for exactly that — Tele-MANAS on 14416 in India, 988 in the United States.
If your school is deciding between FitToday and hiring a counsellor, hire the counsellor. This works alongside people, not instead of them.
If you are a principal, counsellor, or administrator and you want to look at this properly, tell us about your school and we will get back to you. A pilot starts with the DPA and parental consent, not with software — so the first conversation is usually about paperwork and safeguarding, not features.
The enquiry form asks for your school, your name, your email, and your country. It is the fastest way to reach us, and it goes to a real person rather than an inbox nobody reads.
